The world that forgets

Aetheris

There was a world thousands of years old. Then came The Rupture. Not an apocalypse of fire and blood: a slow, gentle, terrifying erasure.

There was a world named Aetheris, thousands of years old. Then came The Rupture. Cities vanish, mountains shift, forests move, maps turn false. And its people, one by one, forget their own past. The world does not die. It loses its memory.

You are not "the Chosen One". You are a Forgewalker, one of the few able to walk between the fragments of reality. Every dungeon you explore is not a place: it is a memory of the world, a piece of what Aetheris once was, that the world desperately tries to remember. Your role is not to save the world with a sword every ten minutes. Your role is to preserve memory, to be a living archive in a world that fades. You do not kill the bosses: you give them back their forgotten identity. You do not forge weapons: you awaken what they were.

But the truth is darker than a mere accident. Someone is constantly rewriting reality. They call him the Rewriter. Not a demon, nor a dark lord: a being who dreams of a perfect world, without suffering or ugliness, and who to reach it erases every pain, every mistake, every scar of the past. To him, forgetting is healing. You fight to preserve memories, even the most painful, because they are true. Both sides have their reasons. There is no good and evil. Only a choice: truth or peace.

Will you walk through the memories of the world?
